Frequently Asked Questions About Coffee

  • After roasting, coffee loses its flavour the more it is exposed to air and humidity. We recommend that you buy your coffee according to your needs, store it in an airtight container in a cool, out of the light place and grind it just before preparation. Thanks to the FlavourLock™ in the package of your Starbucks coffee, the coffee in your unopened package stays fresh until the expiry date.

  • Starbucks uses FlavourLock™ technology to preserve the freshness of its coffee beans. FlavourLock™ is a one-way packaging system that removes carbon dioxide from freshly roasted coffee beans through the sealed coffee pack, without letting oxygen in. This technology allows coffees to be packed immediately after roasting. Thus, our coffee, which we offer you in 250gr packages, remains fresh until you use it. Coffee beans retain their freshness for 1 week after the packs are opened. We recommend that ground coffee beans are consumed on the same day. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

  • For the freshest coffee taste, we recommend that you grind the coffee beans at the time of brewing. If you prefer, you can also have your coffee beans ground in our stores according to the brewing method.
    Your brewing management determines how your coffee should be ground;

    * Coarse for the coffee press,
    * Medium for filter coffee machines,
    * Fine for espresso machines,
    * To cook with the Turkish Coffee method, your coffee beans must be very finely ground.

  • To enjoy a perfect Starbucks coffee at home, we recommend using a coffee press, because in a coffee press, coffee and water stay together for a long time. This allows the coffee to brew and release its flavor in the best way possible.

    The ideal ratio for brewing your coffee in a coffee press is 10 g of freshly ground coffee for every 180 ml (6 ounces) of water. This recipe is based on a globally accepted ratio.
    For this brewing method, you can use the following amount of coffee beans ground for the coffee press:

    * 7 Starbucks spoons of coffee (50 g) for 8c press
    *4 Starbucks spoons of coffee (28 g) for 4c press
    * 3 Starbucks spoons of coffee for 3c press (21 g)

    When brewing your coffee in the coffee press, using boiled water after resting for 2 minutes will help your coffee to brew better. You can prepare and drink your coffee with hot water after 4 minutes of brewing time. We recommend that you consume your coffee within 20 minutes after brewing.

    * 1 Starbucks spoon (scoop) = = 7 g of coffee
    * 2 tablespoons = 10 g coffee
